MAGGIE WETHERBEE
Maggie Wetherbee has been teaching hot yoga for almost 12 years. She first fell in love with Bikram yoga as a student in Burlington, pursuing her Masters degree in mental health counseling. The Bikram series strengthened her body and mind and in 2009 she graduated from Bikram’s Yoga College of India.
Maggie taught for several years all over New York City before starting her family. She and her family have now returned to Vermont and she is grateful to have come full circle and rejoin the community as a teacher. Practice with Maggie:

JACQUIE MAUER
Jacquie earned her 200 Yoga Teacher Training in Ashtanga Yoga at Yoga Vermont in 2011. She has since studied with Ashtanga Teachers including Beryl Bender Birch, David Swenson and David Williams. Jacquie has also spent time studying with Tibetan Bon Buddhist and Mahayana Buddhist Teachers including Tenzin Wengyal Rinpoche, Tempa Dukta Lama and Tenzin Bob Thurman. She continues her study in Hatha Yoga with Michele Loew.
Jacquie has worked with all levels of Yogis and Yoginis – from at risk youth and adults, to healthy, fit children and adults, as well as with the elderly who may have restrictions. Jacquie’s classes at Hot Yoga Stowe are heated, include a breath awareness practice and build through a sequence so each client can strengthen, align, stretch and find themselves deeply rejuvenated by the end. Practice with Jacquie:
FROM JACQUIE I love Yoga. I love how it makes me feel and how it makes me understand my body, breath, heart and mind better. Each practice is an experiment in self-awareness. Each pose is a mountain to climb or a well to drop into. Each transition is a dance – a Japa Mala – the space between where love and grace can be found. |
EMMA MATTHIES
Emma has been practicing yoga since she was 10 years old. It has been a constant part of her fitness routine since she was a young gymnast and dancer. One of her favorite parts of yoga is its versatility. A yoga practice is as varied as the people who show up for class.
Her practice has ranged from a spiritual Kundalini practice to a strong, sweaty acrobatic type flow. But no matter how much the practice makes her sweat, she has always practiced yoga for better body awareness and mindfulness. She did her 200-hour yoga teacher training at Sangha Studio in Burlington, VT in 2018. Practice with Emma:

JESS LANTOS
Jess is a passionate bodyworker, energy healer, yoga teacher, and outdoor enthusiast based in Waterbury, Vermont. Since 2010, her yoga practice has been a catalyst in cultivating calm, peace, and presence in her life. Teaching has empowered her to speak her truth, love deeper, and live out her dharma. She aims for each class to inspire students to be who they are meant to be with confidence.
Her playful classes will create a meditative mind-body connection that emphasizes feeling, rather than thinking, one’s way through the movement. She will challenge your limits while encouraging you to honor yourself and modify poses when needed. Learning this balance of when to push and when to surrender will benefit students beyond the yoga studio. In 2019, Jessica completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training at Gypsea Yoga School (now InnerSea Academy) in Uvita, Costa Rica, and returned a few years later to complete their Facilitator Program. She helped facilitate a 200-hour teacher training in the Spring of 2022. In addition, she completed a 50-hour Yin and Yoga Nidra certification with Lora Ksieniewicz of Yoga on the Vine. She is a Certified Reiki Master and Registered Massage Therapist. She has a passion for cultivating space for healing, relaxation, and self-discovery. Practice with Jess:

She initially practiced for many years at Sharon Gannon & David Life’s Jivamukti Yoga School in NYC. Her yoga classes follow the Dharma lineage of Hatha Raja yoga with some ashtanga-based Jivamukti influence.

Abby has always found yoga to be a soothing practice, something she can return to, to help gather strength and energy for challenges in life.
She completed her 200HR Yoga Teacher Training with Sangha Studio in Burlington in 2022. Abby’s classes are supportive spaces where students can show up exactly as they are.
